The Temple of Earth October 15, 1200: The rebuilding village of New Moret was visited by a band of small folk who spoke to Rook concerning troubles in the Lormit Mountains. Wishing to do what ever he could for his small-folk brothers, Rook journeyed to the small-folk village only to find that those in the village had suffered greatly at the hands of tall-folk and giants. After a short meeting with the village elder, a blind rune caster dwarf named Bartus Greystone, it was decided that a party consisting of Rook, Atex, Rutial, Maraba, Selinda, and Barnard would travel to the giant complex and assess their strength. This assessment was brief, however, as the giant's strong hold was well defended. After a quick battle, it was quickly decided that Rook and his small-folk friends were no match for the giant's forces. Rook decides to return home and enlist aid from his tall-folk friends. October 30, 1200: A party consisting of Rook, Steven, Shato, Gar, Renchor, Roman, Wyatt, Azoul, Adon, and Natasha left Steven's castle and traveled by horse back to the small-folk village. Once at the small-folk village, the party met with the Bartus Greystone. After hearing the elder's story, the party decided to aid the small-folk and set out the following morning. Accompanied by Atex, Rutial, Maraba, Selinda, and Barnard, the party encountered a pair of Wyvrens. During that battle, Azoul summoned the Black Bow of Loth and accidently killed Atex. After much discussion and heated words, Selinda, and Barnard returned to the small-folk village with Atex's body. After camping for the evening, the party awoke to find that Azoul was no where to be seen. The party proceeded for the next few days without Azoul and discovered the giant's strong hold. After a short battle, the strong hold's guards were defeated and the party entered the complex. Several battles occurred inside the complex, minor monetary treasure was discovered, and most of the magic gained was found to be cursed. Azoul was discovered and was consequently slain by the party. After regenerating back to life several times and being transformed into a Drow in the process, Azoul was transformed into a Reverent to seek vengeance on the party. This threat, however, was quickly eliminated and the party decided to camp outside the strong hold before making another journey into the complex. March 4, 1201: After having defeated the evil powers residing at the Temple of Earth, the party consisting of Steven, Nomad, Shato, Renchor, Roman, Natasha, Wyatt, Gar, and Adon decide to head back home to safe confines of Hommlet. Rook, the halfling guardian, decides to escort the small-folk survivors to the city of Littleborough; where no doubt a huge feast will be held in his honor. March 10, 1201:While keeping guard on the party's return to Hommlet, Renchor is visited by St. Vesner. After a breif concersation, and assurances that the party will be kept safe, Renchor travels with St. Vesner to the top of a wizard's tower where the Sword of Legends is impaled in the tower's battlement. To prove his worth, Renchor defeats a Fog Giant and is allowed the right to claim the legendary weapon by pulling it from the battlement. The Sword of Legends; Morridan is claimed by Renchor the Ranger. |
