My first Mission:

My guild has my first mission for me. There is a noble passing through town on his way to Strom Hand. They would like me to see if I can relieve him of some of his burdens.

Well, today did not start out good. Someone got to my target before I did. Apparently he was attacked by some rather large dogs last night. I am supposed to go see what items can be salvaged.

It’s a little over a days walk to the site, I camped mid afternoon so I could investigate the site in the daylight tomorrow.  I was attacked by an injured wolf in the middle of the night and nearly died. I am still pretty wounded, but must continue on. The noble’s wagons have been smashed and tipped over, stuff is burnt and there is a lot of blood, but no bodies and some really big dog tracks.

There appears to have been a guard wagon, noble wagon and a treasury wagon. I found a man in treasury wagon, injured and crushed under some stuff. Something took a large chunk out of his leg. He showed me where there were some potions in a chest and they seemed to help him out.

I found several weapons, 3 potions and some money. I salvaged everything I could and let him go back to town with me. I relieved him of an item he was carrying. It is a coin shaped amulet with a foggy looking globe on one side and a lightening bolt sword on the other. While I was messing with it a horrid looking creature pressed its face against the foggy globe from the inside. I almost wet myself. The sword emblem shocked me with electrical damage and the orb burned me with fire as well. OUCH. This item may prove to be worth something if they let me keep it (maybe they don’t need to know I found it).

I turned in everything at guild. They let me keep a +1 Defending Main Gauche, Rapier +1, a small pouch (with the amulet hidden in it), 2 potions of cure light, noble’s signet ring, 73GP, 7SP, 4CP

I had the items identified by the guilds mage. In exchange I ran errands for him the next day. I heard that there was a murder last night that the guild is being accused of, so while I am in town I will check it out. There are at least 15 people dead, but the bodies are gone again. There are more of those big dog prints, like what was around the noble’s caravan. This was the same inn and tavern that the guy I brought back with me from the nobles caravan was staying at. This could be bad; they must have been looking for something. I informed the head guard about the caravan outside of town and how the two seemed to be linked. He said he would investigate that possibility further.

The dogs attacked the guild that night. They must be looking for the medallion, which was the only thing of real value I found on the wagons. They killed the guild wizard and nearly killed my guild trainer. They were led by a hound master with a bloodied fist and shattered lightening bolt symbol. We got some horses and I headed for Strom Hand (City of Heironeus or the golden city as it’s called).

There was a huge dog on our guild house, it has wings, its eyes glowed and its watching me. I am riding as fast as possible.

I made it. I rode straight through for 2 days. I think my horse is going to die.
